Grades 1 Instructional League
Scott Foor, League Director

The Instructional League is for Mt. Lebanon girls presently in first grade. As the name implies, the emphasis of the league is on instruction. Coaches are to instruct the players in sportsmanship, in how to play and how to have fun. Usually there are two games a week where the girls have the opportunity to play in a non-competitive structure. Score is not kept and there are no league standings or champions. Active on field involvement by the coaches and parents is expected. League rules attempt to allow equitable participation offensively and defensively for all players coming to a game. Everyone is placed in the batting order from the beginning of the game and are assured of playing at least half of the game defensively at different positions. Batters will utilize a batting tee.

Score is not kept and there are no league standings or champions. On field participation by coaches and parents is lessened compare to the Grades 1&2 Instructional League. Tournament Teams

If sufficient interest exists, there will be teams formed to play in weekend tournaments in neighboring communities during the month of July. It is planned to use tryouts to select the team members. Those selected will be expected to pay an additional fee to cover entry fees and required uniforms and to commit to being available for all tournaments during July. Volunteer coaches will also be needed. Those interested in more information or interested in playing or coaching should indicate their interest on your registration or at registration.
